Comics

...are a relatively new love of my life. Drawing them began in 2006 or so.
I spent my childhood reading Donald Duck, but found more titles during my mid-teens - Fingerpori, Hellboy, The Sandman, Walking Dead, Death Note, Fables, Red Meat and Blacksad to mention a few.

I prefer markers, but I enjoy drawing with digital lineart and colours too,
or going artsy with watercolours and paperboard. I variete styles from pseudo-manga to Finnish rock-comics, realism to naïve.
I consider myself as the commercial type.

My themes are similar in each story. I love horror and rock pastiches,
black and surreal humor - and often throw in a few fantasy and science fiction elements. I'm an extremely productive writer, but find too little time for the actual process. I fight against the odds by setting time limits for myself; I don't usually spend more than 1-3 hours per page.

I have a monthly fullcolour comic, Kulmacorner, in SUE magazine. It's my first title, but not a personal pride of mine. Another comic, Jeremiah Jones & Lake Henryn Arvoitus is a light-hearted horror pastiche I co-wrote with my sister. Selfpublishing a full-lenght comic is a future dream and goal.

At the moment I'm working on a project for ValoAurinko and my comic-related thesis; a fantasy adventure called Hämy.
